2012 Festival Call for Entries - Submit Your Film Now

Have you made a feature or short film that just does not fit into the mainstream Cineplex theatre? If you have and if your film has not screened in Saskatoon then you should be sending it in for submission as soon as possible.

We are looking for cool films of all lengths to show during both our midnight series and also for our
annual festival.

We do not charge an entry fee and encourage local, national and international submissions.

The Deadline for Submissions is February 28, 2012 but please submit your film as soon as possible.

Benefit of Submitting

1. Each and every submission will be watched all the way through and will be considered for the festival.
2. If chosen your film will be screened before the fans in Saskatoon. We may not be the largest festival or have the largest audience but we care about your film and the audience also cares.
3. We will do everything possible to make the screening a success.
4. We have a limited budget to assist film makers in travelling to the festival. The festival organizers will work with the film makers to assist in travel costs if at all possible.
5. Each and every film will be provided with time for a Q&A session. This includes both feature and short films.

Eligibility

1. This film has not screened to a public audience in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
2. This film or video is not subject to any litigation nor is threatened by any litigation.
3. I am duly authorized to submit this film to the festival.
4. I hold the Dark Bridges Film Festival harmless from any damage to the print(s), tape(s) or disc(s) en route or otherwise during the course of the festival's possession of the film.
5. I hold the Dark Bridges Film Festival, its owners, management, juries, subsidiaries, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from my entry.
6. I certify that I have full rights to the use of the music in the entered work.
7. I give permission for the Dark Bridges Film Festival to use stills, titles, copy, and/or information from the short for promotional purposes
8. I give permission for the Dark Bridges Film Festival to screen the film at the Festival as well as any Festival presentations, programs, and/or events.

How to submit?

1. Download and complete the submission form.
2. Send a submission package to the address provided below as soon as possible. The package should include:
   1. SCREENER DVD: Preview screener in DVD (ANY Region, NTSC or PAL) format.  If sending a computer-burned DVD, please test it on several makes and models of players before submitting, and ideally include a back-up copy. Please do not send film prints, master tapes or other originals as submitted preview screener DVDs will not be returned.
   2. CONTACT DETAILS MARKED DIRECTLY ON THE DVD:  Preview screeners must be labeled clearly with film title, country, running time, and contact e-mail.
   3. SUBMISSION FORM:  Enclose a printed copy of your submission form. This is an editable PDF. Please type in the information if at all possible.
   4. SHIPPING ENVELOPE: If using a padded envelope for your entry, please use a bubble envelope, not a fibre-filled envelope, due to the damage they can cause to media. When submitting more than one film, please include a separate screener DVD and separate submission form.
   5. SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS: All submissions must be sent pre-paid, postmarked by or on the deadline you are applying for; the Festival will not accept collect or cash on delivery (COD) shipments.
   6. U.S. & INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: U.S. & International submission packages should include all applicable labels, commercial invoices, customs declarations and waybills, for entering Canada, and must be valued at $10.00 USD or less. Packages should be clearly marked: Without commercial value. Non-pornographic. For cultural purposes only.
3. As we are now closer to the end of the submission period we recommend sending an email off to the John (john@darkbridges.com), the Director of Dark Bridges Film Festival just in case there is a delay in your screener reaching us.
