About the Dark Bridges Film Group

Over the past few years I’ve been heading out to Toronto for film festivals. While I don’t think I will stop doing this anytime in the near future as it is a lot of fun I have realize that there is no reason for me to have to do this. I should be able to see good genre films here in Saskatoon. We get the big blockbusters and both the Roxy and Broadway do a fine job of bringing in great smaller films but I want to be able to enjoy the thrill of sitting in a packed festival audience. There is nothing like packing a theatre full of fans and seeing a small independent horror, fantasy or cult movie that never gets to picked up by the large studios and chains. These are the movies that directors and actors cut their teeth on. They often have more heart and while they don’t have the biggest budget they still provide us with thrills and laughs.

I believe that Saskatoon is ready for a new wave of films and I hope that you are willing to join us on what will surely be a wild ride.
